Typojanchi (Bloom)
“Bloom” - Artwork for Seoul’s Typojanchi 2021 Biennale. This piece is centered on the blooming process of a queer humanoid plant divided into five stages: birth, oppression, self-knowledge, defense, and expression. As a non-binary person, I wanted to create a piece that resonated with my own experience dealing with gender norms and binary codes. I wanted to portrait how it affected me during my life. Self-knowledge and expression was important tools for me to build resistance to navigate society and standing for who I am.
